Gas prices are slowing us down this year, but not stopping us. We knew we traveled about 6,000 miles in the motorhome last year. Our trusty truck went who-knows-how-many-miles taking us to fishing holes, exploring, shopping and, oh yes, a golf course or two. So, we are planning a shorter mileage trip this year. Barring any break-downs by the Roadhouse or break-downs by its occupants, we will visit Provo, Utah first. Then on to our favorite-Montana. We’ve planned our Montana stays in 3 new locations and two favorites.
Come along with us as we see just how flooded Montana is as we arrive there. Monster snowpack and spring rains are wreaking havoc on the state as the Memorial Day weekend approaches. Gary doesn’t hold out much hope for fishing. Or golf, for that matter. We are going into a situation we probably haven’t experienced before. At this point, with 3 of the campgrounds where we have reservations being on waterways, we’re not even sure the campgrounds will be habitable when we arrive. Too soon to tell.
We are packing up the Roadhouse as if it was going to be a normal summer. Gary, with his inflatable boat, golf clubs & fix-it tools is ready to hit the road. I’ve got my camera & books. The truck has new shoes. The fridge is full.
Once again, our children make all this possible. Our son watches over our landscaping & sprinkler system & issues in the house. He spends the night occasionally. Our daughter looks in the envelopes left in the mailbox & lets us know if there’s anything that needs our attention. We are blessed to have our children living nearby & so generous with their time.
See ya on the road!
